Install an eSIM on Android

Find the installation steps for Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy. Menus vary by device and software version.

Before you start

  • Use an unlocked device that supports eSIM in its purchase region.
  • Read your plan’s activation rules. Some plans start when installed; others require arrival or a travel date.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi or another reliable internet connection.

Open the installation details

Return to your order page after payment. Wait until the eSIM’s installation details are available.

Display the QR code on another screen, or use the manual details shown with your eSIM.

If you closed the page, use your recovery code or backup file to reopen the order.

Add the eSIM to your phone

Follow the instructions for your phone. Menu names vary by software version and language.

Google Pixel

  1. Open Settings, then Network & internet, SIMs, and Add SIM.
  2. Choose the option to set up an eSIM, then scan your code or enter the supplied details.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. On Samsung, open Settings, Connections, SIM manager, then Add eSIM.
  2. Choose the option to set up an eSIM, then scan your code or enter the supplied details.

Follow the prompts to download and add the plan. Other Android brands use different menu names.

Set up mobile data

When your plan’s instructions say to connect, select the travel eSIM for mobile data:

  1. Enable data roaming on the travel eSIM if your plan requires it.
  2. Turn off data roaming and automatic data switching for your home line to avoid unintended home-carrier data charges.
  3. Enter the access point name (APN) only if the installation details require it.
  4. In your covered destination, turn off Wi-Fi briefly and check that mobile data works.
