Getting Started
Check device compatibility
Verify your exact model’s eSIM support, purchase region and carrier lock before buying.
Check on your phone
- Look for Add eSIM in your mobile network settings and check the manufacturer’s specifications for your model.
- Use an unlocked phone. On iPhone, Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock should show No SIM restrictions.
- Install your device’s available software updates before adding an eSIM.
- Some iPhones sold in China mainland, Hong Kong or Macao have different SIM hardware. Check your model number with Apple.
- China-mainland eSIM models have extra rules. A foreign-provider eSIM cannot be installed while you’re in China mainland; check Apple’s guidance before travel.
- Carrier support varies. Pixel 2, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a have purchase-region or original-carrier restrictions; check Google’s guidance.
What this check tells you
Results combine the provider’s list with manufacturer specifications. They confirm listed eSIM support, not a live test of your phone.
An unlisted model needs a manual check. Network coverage, hotspot use and activation timing depend on your chosen package.
